The Better Hearing Institute is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit corporation which was created over 30 years ago to promote hearing healthcare across the United States. The organization is jointly funded by the manufacturers and suppliers who comprise the hearing industry in the U.S. Over the years, BHI has perhaps been best known as the producer of Public Service Announcements about hearing loss and the importance of appropriate treatment. Behind the scenes, BHI has operated a call center where consumers could ask questions about hearing loss, and the organization has distributed helpful brochures about specific subjects that were important to consumers.

Promoting Awareness in Healthcare, Medical and Deaf

We also encourage deaf and hard of hearing individuals to pursue careers in healthcare delivery. PAH, MD (Promoting Awareness in Healthcare, Medical and Deaf) is a volunteer organization of medical students, deaf and hard of hearing healthcare recipients, healthcare providers, medical school faculty, and advocates. The University of Rochester chapter invites anyone with an interest in this topic to join us.
