Deaf Empowerment to Provide Sign Language Classes

Sign Language is a common bond that helps to keep Deaf Culture alive, but it is also essential for communication for many D/HH people.

Most D/HH people wish that more hearing people would learn sign. Many hearing people say they are fascinated by the language and want to learn.

Deaf Empowerment has an answer for both. We will begin offering sign language classes very soon!

Eventually, Deaf Empowerment plans to have a whole sequence of classes from the beginner to more advanced ASL classes.

“This will be an excellent opportunity for those people who want to learn, all the way to the interpreters who want to feel more comfortable with ASL,” said Founder Lori Fuller.

Initially, a broad, general sign language class will be offered and later as more people show interest at various levels, additional classes will be added.

If you know of anyone who would be interested in these classes, or you yourself would be interested, fill out the registration form below and Deaf Empowerment volunteers will contact you when the class has been setup.

Classes should begin sometime late this spring, and cost will not be prohibitive. Those who have financial difficulties will also be worked with if they express interest in the classes. More information will be available as planning proceeds. If you would like updates, fill out the registration form below, and we will keep you updated!
