September 24, 2002, marked the very first meeting of the Deaf Empowerment Board of Directors, which also was the official starting date of the agency.

The seven people, each chosen for their specific strengths and ability to represent a specific part of the local Deaf Community, were hand-picked by the founders.

The board members serve a 3-year term, without any compensation. They volunteer their time and talents to help ensure services can be provided to you through Deaf Empowerment.

The board meets every month, usually the third Tuesday, typically at the Neenah Public Library. If you ever have any thoughts, concerns, or ideas for Deaf Empowerment, we encourage you to contact any member of the board, or the founders (Lori Fuller and Melanie Blechl).
