Deaf Empowerment cosponsors Leadership Training 

Deaf Empowerment had an opportunity to sponsor an exciting event along with Fox River Valley Association of the Deaf and the Racine/Kenosha Deaf Club!

The event brought Libby Pollard, former President of the National Association for the Deaf to train people on parliamentary procedures and leaderships. The workshop was open to any Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals who were interested in learning.

Wow! We, Deaf Empowerment board and co founders learned so much. With the help of this training, we have learned how to be better leaders, and train others with essential leadership skills. This will help us acomplish our mission to empower Deaf/Hard of Hearing people to lead more productive lives through advocacy, education, and community involvement.

We hope to bring Libby back in the fall to provide another workshop focusing on the role of the secretary. Watch for more information in future issues of Empowering News and on our website.
