Are you ready to help Deaf Empowerment by becoming involved?
GREAT! This page will list the opportunities as they become
available for how you can get involved.
If you are interested in volunteering in any of the following ways, or if you have other skills you would like to share,
contact us!
- Volunteer coordinator
- This person will help to coordinate people who wish to volunteer
for different activities, including keeping track of people's
talents when they sign up to help with events.
- Sign Language Interpreters
- Various Deaf Empowerment meetings require interpreters. We are
always looking for qualified interpreters who are willing to
donate their services.
- Volunteers to assist with Child and Family Services Events
- Deaf Empowerment has started monthly events for families who are
affected by D/HH issues. We are looking for individuals who
would be willing to help out with these events.
- Some of our Child and Family Services events are listed
here.
- Volunteers to assist with PAH!
- There are many different things we need assistance with for PAH!
They include:
- Voice Interpreters
- Hosts (helping direct people)
- Auction assistants
- Setup help
- Clean up help
- Registration
- Grant writers
- Are you experienced with writing grants? We are looking for
people to assist with writing and proof reading grants. We also
could use help researching different grant opportunities.
- Accounting Services
- Deaf Empowerment is in need of an accountant who would be
willing to donate a small amount of time to assisting us with
financial needs, such as conducting and annual audit and provide
advice on payroll and other financial tasks. If you yourself
have this expertise, or know of someone connected with the Deaf
Community who does, please let us know!
- Donate materials
- We could use a variety of materials for Deaf Empowerment, if you
have any of these items you would be willing to donate, let us know.
- ASL materials for teaching
- Resource library materials for Deaf Empowerment (i.e. books
related to Deafness, hearing loss, or sign language).
- Other things we could use
- Donations. All money contributed to Deaf Empowerment can
be used as a tax deduction, as we are an official 501(c)(3) tax
exempt organization. If you are interested in making a
contribution, contact us.
- Lists of your friends and family. We are working to expand our
mailing list to help spread the word about Deaf Empowerment among
the community. If you know someone who is interested to know more
about Deaf Empowerment, or could benefit from our services,
let us know!
